Recent Scores: | Owl Pillow | Quilted Jacket | Jewels |

I think its time I come out about my obsession with owls. I don't know what is wrong with me, but I just can't seem to pass up anything that has a cute, little sweet owl face on it. (If you come to my apartment you will find about 5 owl nick nacks, owl salt and pepper shakers, owl towels and oven mitts.....) Either way, I just love this new owl pillow that I picked up for my living room. Adorbs!!

As for the last two items, I scored both of these guys at Forever 21 over this past weekend. I first spotted this jacket online and feel in love, but it quickly sold out, so I was thrilled when I found it in my local store on sale! As for these jewels, I talked last week about my love for buying earrings at forever 21, and while I didn't find the two pairs I was looking for, I didn't come home empty handed. I also couldn't walk away for this 4-pack ring set for only 1.99....that would have been a crime!!

And it's finally Friday y'all! Time to enjoy the weekend! Thanks for reading!

Can't Live Without It

deets: | shirt: local boutique | vest: F21 | skirt: F21 | belt: Old Navy | tights: Target | shoes: TJ Maxx | jewels: F21,
Tiffanys, gift |

So today I'm wearing some items that are staples in my closet that I just canNOT  live without! This black pleated skirt is such a great basic for me. I can wear it during the day at work, out shopping with some friends, or for a night out with the BF (who just happen to pick this piece out for me, ha).

Another item that would leave me incomplete is this cargo vest. Every since I got this little beauty in the mail I have been pairing it with everything. I wear it over shirts, sweaters and even jackets...it's such a good layering piece and adds a little something to make every outfit look complete.

As for the last piece I might die without, it's this monogram necklace. I got this amazing jewel from my sis for my birthday last year and you can catch me wearing it almost everyday. It is the perfect rose gold tone that mixes with both gold and silver! I don't know what girl who doesn't love a monogram necklace!

Thanks for reading today y'all! Just one more day until the weekend! Woo Hoo!!

Get in MY Belly: Crispy Lima Beans

We've made it halfway through the week, it's Wednesday and that means time for another food post! Today I am sharing with y'all either a good snack or side dish that's super easy!

Step 1: Gather all you ingredients together and preheat the oven to 400 degrees. I know it looks like a lot, but you really just need lima beans, little bit of oil, and some parmesan cheese. Then you can put in whatever spices you want! I forgot to include it in the picture, but I included some spicy seasoning because I am a lover of all things spicy!

Step 2: Put your frozen lima beans into a colander under cold water to rinse them off and defrost them just a bit.

Step 3: Place the lima beans  into a baking dish along with the oil, cheese, and your choice of spices.

Step 4: Let them bake for about 15 mins or so. (If you would like your beans more crispy just leave them in a little longer)

Step 5: Let them sit for just about 3-5 mins and then it is time to enjoy!

It's that simple! I first got the idea for this from here. The only problem was that I didn't have edamame in my freezer so I just used lima beans instead and then made a few other tweaks. Overall, it was pretty good, but next time I will just leave mine in for a few mins longer so they are more crispy.

COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE

So I know it is only Tuesday, but I am already feeling very sluggish this week. It might be the fact that it has been raining and just kinda blah that past couple of days. With that being said my brain is not working enough to think of outfits, let alone get some pics of them, so instead I thought I would just share some presh pics from Pinterest that are getting me through the day smiling!

Outfit Crush: Oversized Sweater

Pinned Image

Sadly, it is already Monday again y'all. As usual the weekend flew by and was over WAY before I knew it! With that being said, mine was jam packed with a ton of things I've been wanting to do all week. I hit up a few thrift stores looking for a desk (I'm trying to find one to DIY, but ended up with a stack of books instead), went to the mall and picked up this ADORBS jacket from F21 that I had my eye on online, but then quickly sold out (don't worry...I will feature it later this week in my recent scores!), and last but not least, just grabbing some froyo and loading it up with tons of the cappuccino bites that I need to own stock in!! They are that good y'all!! anyway, the outfit above is what I lived in all weekend. Too be honest I wore the same sweater and jeans both days and only changed my shirt and shoes, ha. I figured if it worked for one day why not two??!

I hope that everyone else had a good weekend too! Whether you were relaxing at home enjoying a much needed break from work or out and about like me in the GORG weather that we had this weekend. Either way, thanks for reading today and go load up on coffee to make it through this Monday...as I am doing as we speak!

Current Lusts: | Denim Vest | Cargo Jacket | Heart Earrings | Pyramid Earrings |

Morning Y'all! I always think that I'm going to have a hard time each week finding items that I am currently lusting over, but who am I kidding, of course I never  do! Duh....I'm a girl who loves shopping! So today was no different. I have pulled together 4 items that I'm loving at the moment.
Image via GAP

The denim vest. I have been wanting one of these for it seems a year now. I actually had an old denim jacket that I wasn't too fond of that I cut to make a vest, but it was too big and didn't turn out they way I planned, so I'm still on the hunt! This one is new from GAP and perfect! I love the wash and everything....here's hoping my search is over and I get a denim vest soon!

image via Forever 21

Maybe second for my love of the utility/cargo vest that I picked up last month, is the utility/cargo jacket. I love that this one has faux leather sleeves, it just gives it that little something extra. I think this would be perfect just thrown over a tee and some skinnys for a casual weekend look, but how you could unexpectedly throw it over a dress for a cute more dressed up daytime look. Either way, I see a jacket like this in my near future!

As for these last 2 items on my list today, who isn't picking up new earrings all the time?! I love getting earrings from Forever 21. They are always super  cheap  which is great from when you find something trendy, but don't see yourself wanting to spend a fortune because your not sure how long you are going to wear them. I love the top ones because I am a sucker for anything hearts. I'm serious....I might need to start a support group. I can never pass up a good heart shaped anything (dress, shirt, scarf....somebody stop me!!) And the bottom ones I just loved as soon as I saw them. Simple enough for day, but slightly edgy enough to rock at night. LOVE them...hopefully I spot both of these today while I'm out shopping!

Thanks for reading today! Happy Browsing!!

Recent Scores: | Check Meowt Tee | Love Those Hogs Tee | Tee Shirt Necklace |

Time again for some of my recent scores y'all! And I going to start with something I just actually picked up yesterday. I first found this tee by blogging of course, ha. ( see katiemccskronicles)

As soon as I saw this tee on that blog, I had to have it and I'm not much of a graphic tee person to be honest. I don't see how when you look at it you don't just crack up a little! I already have plans to wear it tomorrow while I'm out shopping. I can't find this on Target.com but you may be able to find it in your local Target store just like I did. Be sure to look in the mens section!

I picked up this tee during a sidewalk sale (only $10!) that was going on in the mall while I was home over the weekend in Fayetteville visiting the fam. Being a hog fan and a hog alum, there was just no way that I could go home without this little baby. I think I have about 5 or 6 of these v-neck tees from the Houndstooth Razorback Collection. I love how they make these tees girly so that I feel cute and not like a bum just rolling out of bed when I wear one. There perfect for those lazy weekends when you need to run out for a few errands but don't want to get all guzzied up. ha

Last but not least, is this ADORBS tee shirt necklace I scored from Groopdealz. If you haven't already heard about Groopdealz, you need to check them out! They have new items everyday, and at great prices! I picked this necklace up for only $10 and it was free shipping...you can't beat it! I have had my eye on these necklaces for awhile now, but wasn't wanting to pay the like $50 that I kept seeing them at. So when I saw this one for only $10, I think I bought it without even thinking! Since they only keep items on the site for a few days, you aren't able to pick this piece up anymore, but I found a similar option that is just as good of a deal!

Thanks for reading today y'all! Enjoy the weekend!

Addicted to FB Shopping

deets: | top: local boutique | skirt: jcpenny | belt: F21 | tights: target | boots: fossil | necklace: local boutique |

So I took these pictures last week when we had a flash (one day) of bad weather down here. im talking about looks like a light dusting on the ground, but underneath is a terrible monster known as ice. curse that frozen water! it sure made driving a little bit tricky. And of course I almost lost my nose to frostbite while I was shooting these. Ha.

Any guesses on what those cute little animals are on my shirt....yes, those are zebras! I am a terrible awesome FB shopping addict and this shirt is one of the many  items ive bought on there. i wish i had gotten a picture of the back though--it is super cute with buttons all the way up. although, since this was a FB purchase (on major sale!) i was not able to try it on in person and it is a little shorter than i would like. I really like the fun, quirky quality that it adds to my look, especially on cold days when it feels like you might die just stepping out of the house. Can't wait to see what else I can put this top with!

p.s. I'm hoping to get my pinterest linked up here on my blog soon so y'all can
take a peek at what I find on there! Until then though...y'all can check it out here!

Get in MY Belly: Puffed Bluberry Angel Food Cake

Alright y'all, I back with another Wednesday 'Get in MY Belly' post. I have another quick and easy one for you today that needs only 2 ingredients. I found this little jem off Pinterest a few months ago and just haven't gotten around to making it. But boy was I glad I did!

step 1: start with preheating your oven to 350 degrees. gather one 21 ounce can of pie filling (you can use any flavor you choose, I just happened to get blueberry!) and one box of angel food cake mix.

step 2: pour the pie filling and the cake mix into a mixing bowl and stir until well mixed. (I just used my trusty spatula for this. This does take a little bit of time to make sure that all of the cake mix has been stirred into the pie filling, but when it is finished your mixture should be nice and fluffy--see below!)
Your mixture will double in size!
step 3: now it is time to pour all of the mixture into a greased (I just used a spray)
9x13 pan and pop it right into the oven!

step 4: after about 28-30 minutes it is now time to take it out! you can see from the picture how much it puffed up!

of course now is the best part....it's time to eat! I let mine cool on the counter for about 15 minutes or so. (It also looked liked it needed a few more minutes of out of the oven cooking time to firm up in the middle.) I sadly  didn't have any in my freezer, but I think that some vanilla frozen yogurt would make this AMAZEballs!

I hope y'all enjoy as much as me and the bf did!

Heart Sweater

deets: | top: gap | sweater: old navy | skirt: target | boots: fossil |

So today was one of those lucky days where I woke up right on time, had no trouble getting ready, and my outfit already decided on. This almost never happens. I just happened to have this combo hanging in my closet for a couple of weeks now. I love that graphic sweaters came in this season, and I'm so happy that I snatched this one up on a random shopping trip to Old Navy a few months ago. The options to style this little baby are endless. I have worn a striped tee under, had it tucked into a skirt, worn it over skinnys with a moto jacket and tons more! Nothing beats a cute little sweater to not make the day so blah when I'm heading back to work after the long holiday.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for another 'get in my belly' post.
My Pinterest board strikes again!

Thanks for reading y'all!

Outfit Crush: Pulled Together Comfy

Pinned Image
image via pinterest

happy monday y'all!

what can i say about this look, but love! the ease of the graphic tee pulled together with the great mix of the leopard cardi and the classic skinny jean that goes with everything. i even like her messy hair, hey why not, some days you just don't care. this would be me today. it is MLK day so that equals holiday off from work (always welcomed in my book). after a great weekend in Fayetteville spending time with my fam, aka--hitting up sonic happy hour and getting mani/pedi with my little sis, its nice to come home and have an extra day to just relax and enjoy this gorg weather we have been having here lately. i would never turn away a 60 degree day anytime!

if y'all are as lucky as me today, go and enjoy your extra day off! make it a good one y'all.

Recent Scores: Spiked Flats | Glitter Booties

So I thought I would share with y'all some of my recent scores! Today they just
happen to be 2 AMAZEballs pairs of shoes.

I actually got these Aldo studded flats for Christmas from my sister, but there was a sizing mistake (the box said my size but the shoes inside were an 8, WAY too small for my huge foot!), so I just got the new ones in the mail this past week. They are sooo cute! I love the nude color, which allows them to go with everything and anything in my closet, and the spikes add just enough edge and texture to make any outfit interesting!

and you've already seen these Wanted glitter booties from yesterdays post. I have had my eye on these beauties for quite some time now. I just happened to get online on day and they were marked down to $45, plus I had a gift card so I got these for only $25! Such a deal from the regular price of $90! Booties have been everywhere this season, and you can't beat a glitter bootie, so I can't wait to start planning more cute ways to wear these! I'm thinking anything with skinny jeans!

thanks for reading y'all! Enjoy your weekend!

Spring in my Step...

deets: | shirt: ae | skirt: jcpenny | vest: F21 | booties: bc footwear |

Well today is my first ever  outfit post on my new blog! i remember the first time i even started follow others blogs was because of the adorbs outfits i always saw those cute girls wearing.  they inspired me to start mixing things up that i never would have thought of before and of course made me want to start a blog of my own! so here goes nothing...

Ever since I got these glitter booties in the mail last week, i couldn't wait to start wearing them with everything i own. (although i laugh to see them up close against my skin tone during these pale winter months)  i see them a lot in my future with some skinny jeans. as for the rest of the outfit, sometimes you have to see yourself in pictures to really know what you look like, and to be honest i'm not sure i'm loving this particular stripe shirt with the skirt. the first time i wore this skirt it was with just a solid pink and white striped shirt and i believe i like it much better. ohh well...that is what experimenting is for right? ha. at least i still like my booties! make it a good one y'all!

Get in my Belly: Skinny Funfetti Cupcakes

Alright, so today I am bringing you my very first 'get in my belly' post. I am hoping  to feature a food post every wednesday on my blog.

whats up first you ask....well that would be skinny funfetti cupcakes. I first came by the recipe for these amazeballs cupcakes on pinterest here. they are beyond super easy to make and only require 2 (thats right!) ingredients!

Step 1: preheat the oven to 350 degrees. while this is going on, add the funfetti mix along with 12 ounces of sprite zero into a mixing bowl.

step 2: now time for mixing! i like to first slowly (the sprite makes the batter kinda fizzy) start mixing the batter with just a spatula to get the two combined. then i switch over to a hand mixer to make sure to get all the lumps out of the batter.

step 3: the original receipe says that you can get 24 cupcakes out of the mix, however i never get that many. i usually end up with about 16 or so. i am also not a fan of the cupcake liners for these paticaluar cupcakes. i just spray my cupcake tin with non-stick spray instead.

step 4: allow the cupcakes to bake for about 18 minutes or so. then remove them from the oven and try  (this part is almost impossible for me) to let them cool for at least 20 minutes or so.

now its time to eat! to be honest i had one as soon as i took them out of the oven (told you it was almost impossible for me) and i might have also had 2 others after i let them cool....and may be eating another as i write this post--hey thats what skinny cupcakes where made for right?!

ohh...the original reciepe says that these delicious little guys are just a tiny  110 calories per cupcake, but that includes the frosting that you make to go along with it. i made the frosting the very first time i made these and i wasn't a fan, so i have left it off every other time since and dont feel like i'm missing out on anything. they are great just by themselves!

i hope y'all enjoy them as much i do! Thanks for reading today!
